TENDA GAMES Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shigeki Nakamura; hereinafter referred to as “TENDA GAMES”) has created a drone racing game set in the historic Tomioka Silk Mill for the game platform “Yamada Games” operated by Yamada Denki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture; CEO: Yoshinori Ueno; hereinafter referred to as “Yamada Denki”). This game has been released on the metaverse platform Spatial and can be enjoyed in real time with players from all over the world.

TENDA GAMES has a track record of developing various game genres, and in addition to metaverse production, we can quickly create one-stop solutions from game planning and proposal to specification creation and implementation with our solid development capabilities.

■Background of this initiative
Yamada Denki has been hosting an e-sports tournament called “YAMADA Cup eSports” since 2019. In addition to contributing to the development of e-sports, this initiative aims to promote regional development by utilizing the company’s store network to hold tournaments in areas with few events. Until now, various game genres such as fighting games, rhythm games, and battle royale games have been the subject of the event, but we have focused on drone racing games as a new game genre.
As the first step of the initiative, we have been developing new content for “Yamada Games” using the metaverse platform Spatial, aiming to “develop a drone racing game that anyone from all over the world can easily enjoy.” As part of this, we have been able to receive the support and cooperation of Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture, and have completed a drone racing game that recreates the “Tomioka Silk Mill,” which will celebrate its 10th anniversary of being registered as a World Heritage Site in June 2024, as a circuit on the metaverse.
We believe that by combining the industrial heritage of the Tomioka Silk Mill with the cutting-edge technology and industry of the metaverse and drones, people from all over the world will be able to learn about the Tomioka Silk Mill from a new perspective. This drone racing game is also an initiative that contributes to the local community of Yamada Denki, whose headquarters are in Gunma Prefecture.
